Parts of Slovakia boats some of the oldest habitations in Europe dating back to 270,000BC. Today, Slovakia is one of the fastest growing countries of central Europe and enjoys some amazing scenery such as the Carpathian Mountains, as well as the interesting capital city of Bratislava. Below are just some of the Slovakian highlights submitted by you, our readers...
I think that this beautifully arranged landscape has a calm relaxing look. The area is very clean and tidy and the weather is beautiful with its blue skys. Also the building are very clean and colourful.
We found that Bratislava still has a real flavour of eastern europe. And cheap beer too!
The Church of Saint John of Matha and Saint Felix of Valois has a beautiful interior... one of the best I have seen in Europe.
We ate dinner at the flying saucer restaurant at the top of the Novy Most - or New Bridge - tower. Fantastic views over the city and the Danube river below. Food was average although we did have an excellent red wine from neighbouring Slovenia.
