The Principality of Monaco makes up for its small size with sheer grandeur and opulence. Whether rolling the dice at the casino or relaxing on a pristine beach, you are almost sure to be rubbing shulders with someone rich or famous or both. Below are just some of the Monegasque highlights submitted by you, our readers...
We have been coming to Monaco for many years - the reason is simple, clean, crime free, friendly but extremely glamorous. Our favourite place to eat is Caravelle in Port Hercule - the very best Pizza believe me. Try it. Roberto will make you very welcome and the atmosphere is so relaxed, having a beer and a pizza sitting beside the port - nothing better.
Once in your life you have to go for a trip in Monaco. This mythic place, between the Alpes and the Mediterranean sea will offer you dreams and reality. Monaco Monte-Carlo provides you many discoveries... a highly cultured place with a warm welcome and some of the nicest hotels in the world, plus sumptuous gastronomy at some great restaurants. Everything is done for your satisfaction !
If you want to visit Monte Carlo, I'd suggest staying in or around Nice and getting a bus or taxi to Monaco. Hotels are at a premium and, to be honest, once you have seen the Casino, marina, beach etc there is not a lot else on offer. Just my opinion of course... don't want to offend the Monegasque!
Supposedly Monaco is the most densely populated country on earth but I certainly didn't get that feeling when I was there. In fact, we stopped for lunch at a restaurant on the beach and we pretty much had the place to ourselves! Mind you, it was March so not many tourists. I guess many of the residents are actually not there for a lot of the year... grand prix drivers, tax exiles etc!
