Hotels & Accommodation in Mexico

Mexican hotel accommodation is generally of a good standard, particularly if you are using one of the international chains. Be aware that established local hotels in Mexico may have been given their star rating many years ago and that these ratings are rarely updated even when the hotel has seen better days!

In the tourist resort areas such as Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, many of the hotels encourage visitors to opt for the all-inclusive packages that cover all food and local drinks. Whilst these can offer good value for money, be aware that imported drinks and some of the motorised sporting activities will incur an extra charge. So if your perfect holiday requires you to spend all day on a jetski and only drink the finest Bordeaux wines of an evening... the "pay as you go" option might be a better choice.
