Britain meets Italy meets North Africa on the Mediterranean island of Malta. Party the night away in the resort of Sliema or take in the history of the walled capital city Valletta. Below are just
some of the Maltese highlights submitted by you, our readers...
Mellieha beach is a lovely little spot towards the northern end of the island of Malta. Excellent waterpsorts and beach restaurants, generally clean and kid friendly. On the down side, sandy beaches in Malta are few and far between which means that Mellieha Bay can become pretty crowded in high season.
Little ferries run all day across Sliema Creek, taking you from the busy tourist strip of Sliema with it's bustling shops and restaurants to the slightly more tranquil surroundings of the walled city of Valletta. Ferry boat prices are pretty cheap... just one or two euros from memory.... and the journey takes about 10 minutes.
what a lovely scenic place to visit... lush clear sea, old buildings and lovely weather
