Language & Phrases in Madagascar |
There are essentially three languages in Madagascar... Malagasy, French and English.
English has recently been reintroduced as an offical language in order to encourage inward investment but is not yet widely spoken. French is more often understood, particularly in the towns and cities, so here are a few basic French phrases to help you speak with Malagasy locals...

Travel Offer |
 |
Private Four Day Safari to Samburu and AberdaresSamburu is one of the lesser known game reserves of Kenya, but well worth the visit. On the banks of a river, there is plenty of trees and water to attract animals from far and wide. As with the rest of Kenya, anywhere you find an abundance of animals, you will find predators not too far behind. The beauty of Samburu's lesser known reputation is the lack of crowds making for a more intimate game experience than some other parks offer. Soaring mountain ranges give way to plummeting valleys as streams cascade over waterfalls, making Aberdares National Park a landscape lovers paradise. With over 250 species of bird, it is also a haven for bird watching enthusiasts. Starting from $768.75 per person |
