If you get a chance to go to one of these temples for a genuine ceromony then it's a must see. I was backpacking Indonesia a couple of years back and went to a festival at one of these balinese temples. There were incredible colorful sculptures made from food and then stage shows set to music. People were very friendly and keen to learn english but if you do go please remember to resect their traditions, dress appropriately and maybe even try a couple of words in Indonesian.

If you've ever wondered to climb upto a volcano crater and then cook an egg for breakfast on the hot rocks, this Bali volcano is for you! The locals climb up and down it in flipflops, but for all you westerners be warned it's a long hard (and hot) slog on the way up.

Bali surf is amazing but be careful you don't get caught in a rip tide, i did and it took me about half an hour to paddle back to where the waves started breaking and by then I was too tired to surf!! Also the night life is great.
