Highlights of Finland

Finland is not as cold as people think (especially in the summer!) and who cares anyway when the Finnish welcome is so warm. Dive in to the local culture and it won't be long before you are an expert on which are the finest Finnish vodkas and where exactly the reindeers do live. Below are just some of the Finnish highlights submitted by you, our readers...

"The Kauppahalli indoor market in Helsinki... a very good place for shopping. Highly recommended."

Jens-Jesper Poldre

"Never mind the sights in Helsinki... Head for the Tractor Bar!! Yippee!"

John

Finnish Lakes and Forest Day Trip from Helsinki
A taste of Finnish lake and forest landscape. Enjoy the quiet and sounds of nature during a short walk in the forest. The tour is escorted by an expert guide, who teaches you about Finnish nature. Come see for yourself!

The Nuuksio National Park is about 45 minute drive from Helsinki and covers a large area of beautiful Finnish nature. The park forms part of the large Nuuksio lake uplands, a region that has survived in an almost natural state. There are 38 lakes and ponds in the park and a lot of berries and mushrooms grow there during the summer and fall. In the area there live a large amount of birds, moose and deer.

During the tour a professional nature guide will tell about the features of Finnish nature. You will see a part of the park and take a one to one and a half hour 1.8 miles (3 kilometres) walk along forest paths. After the walk there is time to enjoy coffee and tea and Finnish sweet bread by an open fire in a traditional Lappish kota tent and the possibility of a quick dip in the lake.

Starting from $73.53 per person
