Whether you are sampling a Budvar beer in Prague's Wenceslas Square or exploring
the Czech countryside, the Czech Republic is fast becoming one of the must see destinations of central Europe.
Below are just some of the Czech highlights submitted by you, our readers...
Fabulous city centre point to explore the rest of the city from. Watch out for fake currency and pick pockets, same as most cities though. Police are very efficient, and don't like tourists crossing the road. Expect to pay tourist rices but not too bad - price of a beer reduces in proportion to how far you walk away from the old square. Love it? Yes it's fab!
The best advice I can give is to avoid going at weekends, almost any time of the year... it's stag-do capital of the world. Go during the week when the crowds aren't so heavy and you can enjoy it's relatively laid-back feel. There's much to see in terms of both historical importance and cultural diversity. The main square brings back memories of Venice's St Marks Square, which is never a bad thing.
a spacious, quiet, welcoming hotel in a beautiful city of culture.
If you are looking for something more than just relaxation in a holiday why not come to Prague, a city filled with culture. A place where you have the opportunity to learn.
On the side of the Old Town Hall Tower is the Astronomical Clock. What's very interesting about this clock is that every hour those gathered in front of it can see the procession of the Twelve Apostles: a small trap door opens and Christ marches out ahead of his disciples. It is very nice to see it.
Hubbie and I stayed at the Aria hotel a couple of years ago. It's got a great central location in Prague and also benefits from a roof terrace with views over the rooftops of Prague. The hotel has a modern theme and we thorughly enjoyed our stay.
I visited prague with my family last christams. We went to see a carol service at the church, it was a beautifull setting and summed up the magic of prague at christmas. Would recommend it to anyone wanting a interesting if cold city christmas break.
Visit during the Christmas Markets (December) -- the square below is filled with holiday cheer!
Prague is the ultimate weekend break! From its famous beer and stag nights, to the historical and beautiful pebbled streets. Has something for everyone!!"
Tyn Church is in a beautiful historical part of Prague, important to see if you have got the time. Prague is more than a cheap beer!"
Prague is one of the best places I have visited. Although in February it was unbelievably cold! The old town was vibrant and grand simply beautiful. The old town is normally chocked full of stag dos... be warned if you are there on the weekend!"
