Driving & Directions in Belgium

Belgian roads have strict speed limits which are as low as 30 kph in certain areas such as near schools, hospitals, churches and so on. Radar traps and on-the-spot fines are regularly used to catch speeders.

A fire extinguisher and warning triangle are now also compulsory in Belgium and must be kept in your car at all times. Finally it's worth noting that, unlike in many of Belgium's neighbouring countries, there are no motorway tolls.
