"The great thing about Benalmadena is that it caters for all age groups. There are lively discos & show bars and those aimed at an older age group with 60 & 70's bands and comedians etc. This is my favourite mainland Spain holiday location. It's a great base for exploring & day trips as well and you don't really need a car. With good buses and trains & taxis is easy and cheap to get about. The only down side is everything is on a steep hill (heart attack hill) which unless you are moderately fit is real killer! That said there's great choice & value when eating out. There are lots of bars & restaurants, I think the competition keeps the prices down some what. My tip is avoid staying to far to towards the Benal Beach end of Benalmadena & the golf courses as that's the quite end of the resort, unless of course that's what you're looking for! We prefer to go self catering and eat out somewhere different every night. If you have trouble walking up hills etc then make sure your hotel is close to beach. There is a lovely promenade which extends all the way to Torremolinos. This is lined which shops, bars, restaurants and all on the level! "
