Manchester Travel Guide

Q: Can we have sunbeds for UK only clients?
A: Maybe this will catch on with hotels one day as there are certain nationalities that seem to have a reputation for sunbed hogging! However, I think most of us have seen the Brits do it too!

Lois R says:
"What a view you get of Manchester when you take the Big Wheel ride in this historic part of the city. It looked a bit different before the IRA bombing in June 1996 but now there’s a mix of old and new to view below you if you’re the kind to give the big wheel a go. The oldest pub in Manchester dominates, The Wellington, with its tudor black and white timbers and alongside the Sinclairs Oyster bar beckons. There’s a lovely outdoor café feel here as patrons of both establishments can sit out and imbibe fine food and tasty ales. I was quite impressed with the walkways which seemed to double as seating if you wanted to stop a while and view the large television, its set in a wall of one of the buildings alongside the Big Wheel. The modern Arndale shopping centre is a phoenix out of the ashes of the bombing and it is being expanded as retail demands increase. I just love to explore its many floors and catch up with what’s new in the modern shops. It’s a huge glass-fronted building and when you’re inside it you get a great view of the wheel anytime of day or night. Also in view, on your ride, is the Manchester Cathedral, particularly super in springtime with the pretty, pink cherry blossoms on old trees alongside the historic house of God. Well worth a visit inside here, note the delightful stained-glass windows. The wheel view is terrific so be sure to take your camera and your Manchester pocket-guide so you can identify the buildings as you take the ride. It is particularly stunning when you see it lit up at night."
