Madrid Travel Guide

Q: Are there any quiet non-commercial places to visit in Majorca?
A: Despite the mass market tourism, there are also plenty of quieter spots in Majorca. Valdemossa or Deia spring to mind... traditional villages with only limited tourist development.

Kristian Smith-Wallace says:
"The plaza derives its name from its orientation as it sits on the east side of the Royal Palace. It contains some fasinating statues of Spains Monarchs that were made for the roof of the Royal Palace but were too heavy for it. Aother building in the Plaza is the Teatro Real (also known as Teatro de la opera). In the middle of the plaza is the statue of Philip iv. The plaza was completed during the reign of queen Isabel II but started by Joseph Bonaparte, who ruled Spain from 1808 to 1814 A.D."
