BEL STUBBENS says:
"Havana is a place where at the start of your stay, you see derelict buildings and poverty and by the time you leave, you see nothing but happy, colourful people, music on every corner and have an addiction to 'The Mojito'. Club Tropicana is an experience of a lifetime, where tourist and Cuban dance together and exchange information of very different lives and with a complimentary bottle of rum per couple on the table, you are entertained on a large scale under the stars and George Michael's song 'Club Tropicana' becomes reality. Need a taxi? Why not hire a genuine 1950's model to really soak up the atmosphere? But, agree a price first. In the main square, there are some amazing restaurants, each with its lazy courtyard, filled with palms and white tablecloths, where you can enjoy the Cuban musicians while you eat and drink and buy the C.D too. Ernest Hemmingway's bar is the best for cocktails. Very small, but you can 'read the wall' while you wait for your drink to be created."
Natlaie T says:
"La Habana is supposedly one of the oldest cities founded by Europeans and it certainly doesn't disappoint in terms of history and culture. It's a UNESCO heritage site and offers everything from baroque architecture to a thriving CHinatown. We travelled independently and stayed at Playas del Est which is a beach area near to Havana city. Not as westernised as resorts like Varadero but much more of a real cuban experience."
