Poole Harbour Travel Guide

Q: Where is best for some family fun in London?
A: London is a huge city with hundreds of family attractions but a great place to start is the South Bank of the River Thames. There is lots to see and do AND it will really help you get your bearings.

Marie C says:
"Brownsea Island is a pretty and peaceful retreat located in Poole Harbour in Dorset. The only way of getting to the island is by one of the small public ferries. Wandering around the island in the summer, it has a Mediterranean feel to it; the pine tree woodland, the calm atmosphere, the fine harbour views and an abundance of exotic seeming wildlife. Brownsea Island is one of the only places left in southern Britain where you can see the native red squirrel, and it's a wonderful thing trying to spot the shy little creatures! I most certainly recommend a visit to this charming place, for anyone wishing to spend a day peacefully and surrounded by natural beauty."
