Bath Travel Guide

Q: Which country is offering the best value for money for travellers at the moment?
A: Thanks to falling prices and the strength of the pound against many long haul destination currencies, the non European countries are looking best value at the moment. Recent incidents in Kenya and a 20% YOY fall in the currency versus sterling means that Kenya is probably cheapest of all at the moment.

Lois R says:
"Resplendent in red, gold and white, Bath Abbey is a must to see if you'd like to spend time in a wonderful house of worship. With an overall impression of ‘’light’‘ inside you soon feel most welcome in this English late gothic cathedral, due to the superb combination of white and light coloured walls, huge pillars and fan-vaulted ceiling, gold pieces including a superb eagle lecturn and the red of the kneelers, set amid the lovely dark-stain wood. As you sit and contemplate this beautiful house of God, inspired by the thousands of colour bursts from the creative stained-glass, take the time to consider how many people have worshiped here before you - all appreciating the presentation of a stunning abbey which now welcomes people from all creeds. On one of my visits here I spied my New Zealand High Commissioner walking around. When we neared each other we had a chat, quite memorable as we talked about the beauty and majesty surrounding us ....he was enjoying it as much as me. Every time I have been to Bath Abbey I have been overwhelmed by the beauty and presentation of the lovely floral arrangements, truly they so well complement the diverse colours in the windows. Bath Abbey, or the Abbey Church of St Peter and St Paul to give it its formal name, has been welcoming visitors for over a thousand years and is one of three to be on this site. It is an Anglican Parish church and one you would be wise to visit when next you’re in the area. It’s near the Roman Baths and seek out the new Aqua complex if you want to extend your holiday treats in Bath."
