Alvor Travel Guide

Q: I have traveled a lot but have never been to Portugal. I like to visit places of culture, would there be enough to keep me occupied in Portugal?
A: Absolutely. The capital Lisbon has some fanatstic sights including the 12th century cathedral and the unique Belem Tower. Then there are the nearby towns of Cascais and Sintra that have plenty of cultural interest. Further afield there is the north-western city of Porto or the southern beaches of the Algarve.

"Very nice site! "

Loretta Volpez says:
"Alvor had a murder last year... not safe in my opinion. "

Olivia Austin says:
"This place looks pretty nice, but it's a little deserted."

Trevor D says:
"Don't tell anyone but Alvor has managed to retain its traditional portugese feel despite the flood of tourists that now descend on the Algarve. There are two fish restaurants on the main promenade that literally take fish from the boats and put them straight on the barbecue... if you go at lunchtime you can eat a sardines that were swimming around half an hour earlier!"
